Qatar drawn alongside UAE and Oman in U-17 Gulf Cup
Doha, Qatar: Hosts Qatar have been drawn in Group A alongside the UAE, Oman, Bahrain and China for the second U-17 Gulf Cup, which will be held in Qatar from October 16 to November 4, 2026.
The official draw, conducted by the Gulf Football Federation, has placed 10 teams in the tournament, making this the biggest edition in the competition’s history. slot-chickenroad.org
Group B features reigning champions Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Yemen and Egypt.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, which will be played in a knockout format.
Each group winner will face the runner-up from the other group.
There will be no extra time in the knockout rounds, with any semi-final or final level at full-time going straight to penalties.
Organised by the Local Organising Committee in Qatar in close collaboration with the Gulf Football Federation, the tournament brings together all eight member associations - the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait and Yemen - alongside Egypt and China.
The expanded line-up is expected to provide strong competition and valuable preparation for teams qualified for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026.
The U-17 Gulf Cup has also emerged as an important platform for the region’s promising young players.
The inaugural edition in 2025 saw Saudi Arabia crowned champions at Grand Hamad Stadium after defeating the UAE 2-0 in the final.
America secure Uruguayan center-back Santiago Bueno on loan from Wolves
Mexico City: Mexican top flight football team America announced that it had managed to sign Uruguayan center-back Santiago Bueno on loan from Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 27-year-old, who has almost two years left on his Wolves contract, will be tied to the Mexico City-based team until next June.
Bueno has made 85 appearances across all competitions for Wolves following his August 2023 move from Girona.
He is the latest in a long list of summer signings for the Liga MX club, joining Colombian striker Miguel Borja, Spanish midfielder Carlos Alvarez, Argentine defender Santiago Ramos and American midfielder Edwin Cerrillo, among others.
One of Mexico's most successful clubs, America currently leads the Liga MX Apertura tournament standings with 16 points from its first six games of the season.

تنطلق غدا الأحد منافسات الدوري العام تحت 16 سنة لكرة السلة للموسم الرياضي (2026 -2027)، بإقامة مباراتين على صالة الاتحاد القطري للعبة.

وتقام منافسات الجولة الثانية يوم 27 من الشهر نفسه، حيث يواجه الغرافة فريق الخور، ثم يلتقي الشمال مع الوكرة، على أن تستكمل الجولة يوم 4 أكتوبر المقبل بمواجهتي السد مع قطر، والريان مع العربي.
وتتواصل المنافسات بإقامة مباراتي الجولة الثالثة في الأول من نوفمبر المقبل، حيث يلتقي الخور مع الشمال، ثم نادي قطر مع الغرافة.
وتختتم مباريات الجولة الثالثة يوم 8 من الشهر ذاته، بمواجهة العربي مع السد، والوكرة مع الأهلي.
وتنطلق الجولة الرابعة يوم 15 نوفمبر، بمباراتي الشمال مع نادي قطر، والأهلي مع الخور، قبل أن تختتم مباريات الجولة يوم 22 من الشهر نفسه، بلقاء الغرافة مع العربي، والسد مع الريان.
